CH. Luvan Trouble Is My Business CD
Earns Master Agility Title
Marlowe, and owner, Barb Majka of Atlanta, GA, finished the
MACH title (Master Agility Champion) on October 27, 2002 at the Atlanta
Obedience Club trial on a great Jumpers With Weaves course under judge Anne
Riba from Northfield, Illinois.
At an AKC trial the dogs always complete two runs each day--
A Standard and then a Jumpers With Weaves.
There are three levels for each class--Novice (NA and NAJ),
Open (OA and OAJ), and Excellent (AX and AXJ) (Like obedience where you
have Novice, Open, and Utility).Basically, once youcomplete your Excellent
titles--Excellent Standard and Excellent Jumpers With Weaves--then you can
starting working on the MACH.
To earn the MACH a dog needs 20 Double Qualifications (Double
Qs) and 750 points. You get a Double Q by having a perfect run (clean and
under course time) in BOTH courses on the SAME day. And you get one point
for every second you are under the course time (You do NOT have to get a
Double Q to get points. If you only run clean on one course you can't get
a Double Q, but you still get points for the one course that you did pass)
So to get a MACH you have to be accurate (measured by the Double Qs) as
well as fast (measured by the points).
According to Barb, "Marlowe is both, so we accumulated
DQs and points at roughly the same rate--it still took us 2 1/2 years, though."
Once your dog gets a MACH, you can repeat the whole process
again and earn a MACH 2 (then a MACH 3, MACH 4, etc.)
Barb has competed in obedience and now agility with several
of her Cresteds and has one more, Luvan's Bad As I Want To Be aka Rodman,
sailing through agility too.
Congratulations to the whole family on a great accomplishment!
